We are delighted to announce that ShredCo j.s.a. has joined the Industry Innovation Cluster (IIC), bringing groundbreaking solutions to Slovakia in the field of lithium-ion battery processing.

ShredCo is preparing the construction of Slovakia’s first reuse center dedicated to processing used Li-Ion batteriesfrom electric vehicles, laptops, and mobile phones. The new facility will be located in the industrial zone of the town of Šurany, in the Nové Zámky district, and is scheduled to launch operations in 2026. It is expected to employ around 90 people and will have the capacity to process up to 20,000 tons of batteries annually.

By leveraging cutting-edge technologies from ERMAFA and RET, ShredCo aims to achieve up to 98% material recovery, significantly contributing to environmental protection and the prevention of illegal dumping.

ShredCo’s entry into the IIC represents a major step towards a circular economy and sustainable industry in Slovakia. Their innovative approach to battery recycling and focus on ecological solutions align perfectly with the goals of our cluster.
